Why join us

A real project, a team, a car to get running

Here, a calculation, a diagram or a part never stays in a file: it has to work on the car.

The EIGSI Formula Team was founded by students with a passion for cars. All the work is done on a voluntary basis, and it lets you train, in real conditions, for the job you want to build a career in: cost, deadline, regulation, manufacturing and validation constraints. Responsibilities grow with experience: you can start by discovering a tool and end up owning a complete system.

What you will do

From the first sketch to the pit lane

Each member follows a part or a topic from start to finish. Here is what that means, in practice, over a season.

The complete digital mock-up of the car
DesignDraw a part in CAD, calculate it, then defend it in a design review.
A team member wiring the car's electrical harness
BuildMachine, weld, wire: the part is fitted by the person who drew it.
A team member explaining a design choice to two judges
DefendExplain your choices to the Silverstone judges, in English.

RaceTake the car to Silverstone and watch it go out on track.

Seven technical departments, and three teams around them

You do not need to master the whole list to apply. These skills mainly show what is useful, or what can be learned, in each department.

01

Chassis

CAD, strength of materials, materials, welding, reading the rules, dimensional inspection.

02

Suspension and brakes

Kinematics, suspension, braking, vehicle dynamics, data acquisition and set-up.

03

Powertrain

Thermodynamics, engine, intake, exhaust, cooling, transmission and calibration.

04

Embedded systems

Electrics, wiring harness, sensors, ECU, safety, diagnostics and programming.

05

Aerodynamics

Surface CAD, CFD, composites, manufacturing and integration of cooling airflow.

06

Simulation

Structural analysis, thermal, dynamics, data processing and correlation with testing.

07

Vehicle integration

Architecture, packaging, interfaces, bill of materials, assembly and overall consistency.

08

Competition Performance

Track preparation, checklists, set-up, technical logistics, testing and incident analysis.

09

Cost Report and Business Plan

Costing and justifying parts, manufacturing processes, carbon footprint, and preparing the business plan event.

10

Communication and management

Photo, video, social media, partnerships, event organisation and life of the association.

Team life

What happens outside the workshop

The Communication and Management team organises everything that keeps the association alive: race weekends, afterworks, induction weekends and the departure for Silverstone.

Recruitment

How does it work?

A simple process to understand the team's needs and find a topic that suits you.

Step 1

Discover

Understand the project, the departments and the rhythm of a season.

Step 2

Choose

Name one or more areas that interest you.

Step 3

Apply

Present your motivation, your skills and what you want to learn.

Step 4

Talk

Meet the leads to identify a first concrete topic.

Step 5

Join

Get to grips with the tools and rules, and start contributing.

Application

Introduce yourself in a few minutes

The form prepares an application email in your mail app. You can then reread it, attach a CV if needed and send it.

This information is used only to review your application and to get back to you. It is not shared with anyone outside the team and is kept for as long as you take part, or for two years at most after our last exchange if your application is not accepted.

The form prepares an email in your own mail application: nothing is sent until you send it yourself. To see or have your information deleted, write to communication@eigsiformulateam.fr: we reply within one month at most. Find out more.

Another option: you can also contact the team via Instagram or LinkedIn.
